Kolb Elementary School Coming soon to Dublin Ranch is a new Elementary School at the corner of Fallon and Central. When this school opens, it will alleviate the need for Fallon School to be a K-8; Fallon will convert to being a middle school as it was originally intended to be. Currently, the environment for building a new school in Dublin Ranch is challenging because of the City of Dublin's budget shortfall, and because construction costs are typically paid by housing building permits which have slowed in the housing slowdown. For a while, construction of Kolb Elementary looked like it may be delayed. ![]() Fortunately, community involvement motivated the City of Dublin to move forward with construction and to take advantage of the current bidding environment. This will avoid the need to add classrooms to existing schools in order to comply with state and federal guidelines. Fallon School The Eleanor Murry Fallon School was designed by DLM Architects and was a fantastic addition to their portfolio. Construction began in Spring of 2003; the school was occupied for the first time in Fall of 2005 and cost approximately $30,000,000 to build. The design of the campus centers classroom clusters around a central courtyard, creating small villages and reducing the scale of the larger school. Fallon started as a Middle School, and then took on Elementary students in 2008 as a temporary solution until Kolb Elementary, currently under construction, is completed for Fall 2011. |
